Vincent Van Gogh

1)   Who was Vincent Van Gogh?  Vincent Van Gogh was a painter. He was the son of a pastor. He was very emotional and had a low self esteem. He studied art in Belgium. He was unsuccessful in being a bookstore clerk, an art salesman, and a preacher in a mining district in Belgium. He was suicidal and shot himself.

2) Why was he so famous? Vincent Van Gogh was famous for his paintings and being slightly crazy had also gave him a lot of attention.

3) What was happening in the United States during this time period?The U.S civil war, the end of slavery, and Canada got its independence from Britain.

4) What was happening in my community at this time? Did my community exist? My community did not exist during this time for the Civil war had seperated the states and California was a very different place at this time.
